Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has been covering natural and war-related disasters for over 45 years, focuses on the suffering of people who live in these places. Curry has covered wars across the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned the degree of Bachelor's in Journalism at the University of Oregon. She was the first female anchor for the station at aged 22. After that, she moved onto becoming an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW, an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. After four years she moved in Los Angeles and became a reporter at KCBS TV. Through her KCBS-TV relationship of six years, she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
